you can double layer it but remember it's not 2.5% when you double 5% it's 5% of 5%

I tinted mine along time ago and I believe I went with either 25% or 30% cant remember but on a hot summer day you still get a sun tan on your head so If I was to do it again I would go with 5%

I did mine in 5% and loved. Just make sure who ever does it knows what they are doing. The t-tops curve so much they will need to heat the edegs with a heat gun to keep it from wrinkling.

Did mine in 5% to match the hach and looks great and don't have to worry about the inserts during the hot summer days anymore.

I take mine off in spring and never put them back on except if I park at the mall or something, so my stereo is semi-safer.

Are'nt they all tinted from the factory.
At least to a point ?
And if you want to tint more than 5% thats what the shades are for.2000 NBM WS6

I've done mine too (5%). Agree that I do not always want the shades in, but also don't want to fry my ass off in the summer either.

My t-tops are also off all summer. If you want limo tint on your t-tops than you probably should have gotten a hard top

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
I agree, limo is the closest thing to shades.
Too damn hot here in the summer, espically with a black car, not to have the t-tops in for some sort of protection. I never seem to learn that though, as I burn my scalp every year when that first gorgeous day comes along.
Mine have been tinted, dont know if they're factory or not, but I know it's not limo, might be some where around 15%. Works good for me, just not when its 90*+ outside, shades go in.

That cop must have lied to me when he told me I had 2% on a bonneville I used to have they put the tint meter on my windows said I had 2% tint on all 4 doors I think I also saw 2% tint in the diy section in auto zone thanx guys for all your responses & input I appreciate it

I think most cops don't know what there talking about when it comes to tinted windows.
I didn't know that police offcers are automotive experts? There just a bunch of guys running around with guns and handcuffs and the authority to use them legaly.
The judge decides whos right or wrong. But with out an attonery he dosn't know everything, so that's when you get a auto mechanic who charges you an arm and a leg for hes services to tell the attorney the right story then he tells the judge and the judge tells the cops. When all said-n-done you probaly will have to sell the car with the tinted windows to pay everybody.

If you're tinting them with 5%, you might as well just paint them black on the inside and be done with it. They're already tinted from the factory, and if you're putting that dark tint on there, it's almost completely black.

Not really mine still let light in during the day and you can easily see out the 5% at night. Good 5% isn't that hard to see out of.

With the 5% is not very dark. I think that's the perfect tint. You can still see through the tint.
Summer time u love them.
