I'd suggest confirming the guy that was dyno'ing was monitoring the correct PID for the cable throttle. I had the same problem with using HP Tuners to tune my car, and my brother showed me my problem. The PID I was monitoring was not correct.

With that being said, how was it decided that you were only getting 80% WOT?

You should visually check the throttle blade by removing your intake ducting and having someone depress your accelerator pedal. Most cars, unless the bump stop mod has been performed, may be just a touch less than all the way open. After verifying this, hook up a scanner and check the readout in the same manner to see if they correlate. I am not aware of an adjuster, but have never really looked for one either.

the cable has an adjuster on it that was missing a clip,we were able to hold the throttle open the additional 20 % by hand the pedal could not get that extra 20 %.vengeance racing dynoed her.

There are several variables here. Does your car have Traction control? And what throttle body are you using? There are 2 different OEM TBs and 2 throttle cable setups.
here's what the adjuster looks like

oh ok, so you found the adjuster but there's no clip.hmmm not sure what you're gonna do there. Maybe find a clip in a junk yard. There's probably more then a few GM cars with that style adjuster.

I'd get the clip @ a yard as the others suggested..

For a temporary solution you can doulble zip tie it..

Put one on both sides of the retainer so that the cable can't move in or out..

That will get you through till you can grab/locate it if you have'nt already purchased one..

    Just my .02

Well, I'm out, and it seems you have your answer from the other guys. I was just speaking from my experience, and I have none when it comes to the missing clip. Hope that doesn't happen too often. It would suck going to the track and getting destroyed by my brothers heavily modded 2000 Grand Am without a real fight.
