I actually raced one when I had my second T/A in the '80's! Wasn't pretty. What part of Virginia are you from T-Rexx?

Cool, VA Beach here. Are you in the Tidewater Trans Am Club? I have been meaning to join but the local GTO club has taken up a bunch of my time.

I wouldnt buy one but its good to know people are still trying to keep a legacy alive. Im with however was saying ti doesnt matter whos engien it is. Im putting an lq9 in my t/a and thats an escalade engine. As long as gm beats the competitors i'll generally support it.

My mom had a 73 and my uncle had a twin turbo 74, too bad they sold em.

the 400 big block was def. one of the best engines put under a gm hood. i was close to getting one, would have added a bigger cam and pien smacked a few stangs.

I wish people would quit trying. I'm somewhat glad Pontiac fell through. Everything in the past 5 years has had the same look. They dropped the ball when they brought back the GTO so I'm sure they would fumble on the Trans Am as well. John Elway went out on top, and so did the TA....and you don't hear him talking about a come back

I totally disagree the pontiac 400 smogger was the biggest POS they ever put under the hood of anything. I've NEVER seen a pontiac 400 stock that was still a running engine.. If you want see a good pontiac BB check out a 426..

Do you mean a 421? A 426 stock is a MOPAR. The smog motor 400's didn't have a great cam but you could do a lot with one if you knew what you were doing.

Yeah, I want to say they put the 326 in a bunch of small or medium sized cars for a while, atleast until Pontiac made a 350.

True but Chrysler didn't kill the Dodge line so that left it open for a comeback. It would be a little harder for the whole pontiac line to make a comeback just for the TA to come back.

I think the look of the Camaro/TA is ok but not as good as the older ones. The pricetag is a little steep too.

Don't even get me started on the Chargers. They're nice cars - but they do not deserve the Charger name. Same as the Malibu. Can be nice cars - just don't associate the name with them. Challenger is as least like the old ones. And when Dodge killed Plymouth they killed a lot of good opportunites to redo cars - roadrunner, 'cuda, gtx. I'm mixed on the new cars - They're nice but I don't know if they deserve the names associated with them.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

Most chargers I see nowadays are turned into thug mobiles. Makes me sick.

The only new Charger I like is the one Keanu Reeves drove in "Street Kings".

I went to 7-11 to get some coffee and on the way out someone asked if that was a TransAm naturally I correct him that while it may have started life as a WS6 it's actually a real life Firehawk. He regales me with stories of his old 84 TA and suddenly there are more people around.

Before I realize it I'm talking to 3 people while 4 others are walking around my car talking amongst themselves. I'm sorry but I just don't see that happening with any 2010 Camaro, Challenger, Mustang or wannabe TA. 4th gens are unique and rare. The last of the real thing. Enjoy em, cherish them, because they won't be around forever.
You hit the nail on the head sir
