Same here. Not really a necessity, but as I want to change out the motor mounts and have better undercar access, it is getting swapped out. Let me know how the Turn One rebuild goes.

If you need some info, let me know and I'll try to dig it out.
Thanks. I got some books on it them as well, it's what I'm studying right now, but I'm hoping to find on pre-built so others can get the same results with minimal work.

    I'll let you know.

Some good ideas so far. 35th is doing a damn nice write up on the maintenance topic. Looks like I'll have to get the credit card out and order up some stuff for my next install here soon. Anyone want to contribute to the cause?

    reasoning?

also just to ask without me running out the -5 degree weather to check myself... if I have SLP weld-in SFCs that are already installed, will I have to cut them out and reweld them to put in a new k member?

well I guess what I should have asked was "reasoning? do you/someone you know have experience with both products and favor one over the other?"

I'm completely nuetral on either btw... prices look great on UMI, but when it comes to a K member... a little extra cost might be worth it..

I looked at all the UMI pieces in person on several occasions before buying anything. The materials, welds, fabrication quality, and overall look of their products is top notch. Handling the stuff you immediately notice the solid feel and weight -- the pieces are not flimsy wannabes. Lastly, meeting and talking with the UMI staff, especially Ryan, about their products and how they are designed and constructed was the icing on the cake. I started with subframe connectors, then LCA's, panhard bar, tunnel mount torque arm and now have their K-member.

Pretty much what he said justin, I read the thread and actually checked out alot of the pics where they made there stuff. And another big reason is everything is made in the US which their is not much stuff being made anymore here. I have their weld in SFC and they are a great product, they sale there product on KYSPEED!!

EDIT: Just remember you pay for what you get justin!!

We now have a great maintenance sticky that 35th-ANV-SS put together for the site: http://www.ls1.com/forums/f6/general-routine-maintenance-service-intervals-151571/#post2564198 Nice work Jon!

    Any more requests or ideas?

Doing a little reading last night in one of my engine management books and I think I have one to put together for our tuning section of the forum. I'll have to get some pictures and do a little more research for it.

I like to see a thread on "Rack & Pinion Replacement" and another on "How to swap out a K-Member". I haven't done either so I can't contribute. But I am interested in these.

We've had some nice contributions from members lately to the technical information on our site. I'd like to see someone do a gear swap on our headlights with detailed instructions and pics of the process. We have a sticky with information on it now that links another site. No reason to go somewhere else for stuff that we should have right here.

    Any other ideas or requests???

I've got a little time on my hands now so if something comes up that I can help out with, let me know. Fortunately, I don't have the broken plastic gear problem of the flip-up TA headlights
