I had my black 98 TA for 7 years and the dark interior looked darn near perfect when I sold it. It doesn't really take much effort to maintain.

I love my black interior on my 02 and the charcoal interior on the 98 is alright, I just love dark interiors and they way they look when clean. Think about it, you spend most of the time driving the car so get the interior exactly how you want it (haven't read other post so i don't know if that has been mentioned already)

There is no exterior color I would prefer tan interior on instead of ebony.

my 02 is black and when i used to drive it year round it was a little nicer in the winter...but sucked in the summer. my 94 has tan and i love it more than the black interior doesnt get even close to being as hot as the black interior.

No disrespect P, but I prefer the tan interior on my NBM 02 Z28. I get beaucoup compliments on it when I go to the Saturday night shows.

In all my experience with 4th gen fbodies, I have never encountered anyone that swapped their ebony interior for tan. Numerous people I know of have swapped their tan interior for ebony interior.

Must be an old guy thing eh Jim??

I'd swap my black for tan in a heart beat if I ever found a worthy donor. I'd be even more tempted if it were cloth. My wifes SS has the cloth and I find myself wanting to drive that more often.
Another combo that is one of the best out there is a black car with red interior. Popular throughout the 50's and 60's. Too bad, never seen a 4th gen like that. My buddy tried to order his 98 WS6 like that, no go. I have seen some 04-06 GTO's like that though.

My wifes 97 Z28 vert was white with a tan interior and tan convertable top. Very classy look if you ask me. I was sick when that car was totalled. Couldn't find another one like it. I really like that color combo, and it stayed so cool inside the car on hot days, it was pleasant to drive. Didn't use the A/C as much as I do in a black interior car.
Funny, I have a 72 blazer with a white top and white houndstooth interior (cloth inserts) and I've never found the need to turn the A/C on in it, even over 90 outside, it's just comfortable. Get in a black interior car however and it's night and day difference.

I find the light colors appealing to look at, but also very functional in a hot climate.

Hang on to it. It's things like this that set these cookie cutter cars apart from each other. Just not many around like that.

I too have a tan interior. Three black interiors prior to this and when this one is my favorite by far. I liked it at first and loved it after a while.

No disrespect to anyone out there, but I'm surprised there is as much love for the tan interior.

I have an SOM 'vert (02) that I ordered new in April of '02. I tried to get the Camel interior and top but was told by my boss that they (GM) couldn't make it for me due to it being the last day to order a new T/A so I got stuck with the Ebony int.. My car is only used during the summer and early fall so I wanted the much cooler Camel interior but NFG. According to figures I received from GM, I don't think there were any SOM verts made in '02. Mine would have been a 1 of 1. I do agree with the black being easier to keep clean though, and my d/s seat is showing a little scuffing from doing the T/A butt drop entry style. And it is HOT as HELL in the summer!
