    Tail light removal

I've looked everywhere on how to remove the tail light from a 99 T/A so I can replace one of the brake light bulbs. I'd really appreciate some help here. The chilton manual I got isn't much help to be honest.

It is really easy, remove the carpet in the trunk. There are plastic screws that hold the light in place. Those can be removed by hand, lift up and twist the light out and replace bulb, then put it back the way you took it out.

But remember that you have to remove both interior panels (the ones with the speakers in them), the carpet will just fold down (there may be one or two push zip holding it in place). There are plastic wing nuts that hold in the lights, and you are right they can be removed by hand.

Yep...got it figured out. Thanks guys. I had to lift out my sub box and also deal with the spare tire, but it wasn't too bad.

Here's another interesting tidbit...I replaced my brake lights with LED bulbs and now my turn signals blink slower. WTF?

Probably just the usual bad turn signal self resetting breaker thingy. I would just pull the one for the hazards (not the turn signal one) out of a junk car....they seem to last longer.

Its just up under the dash under above the pedals. Its a cylindrical looking thing...one short one for the blinkers and one long one for the hazards.

If you decide to change your turn signals out to LED you'll need the load resistors installed or the turn signals won't blink at all. I changed mine to LED and they are a lot brighter w/o any color fade and suppose to last forever.
