I would say build the motor, and a rear end. I love power adders but if the motor isnt solid it will be short lived under boost, and you could always add that later. Also you will want to make sure the trans is ready for the extra power.

I agree with this thought process.

Strictly debating heads/cam versus forced induction, with the price of gas these days, I would venture into a blower versus heads/cam as long as the car is built for it.

Am I the only one that likes the STS?

It's a good power adder and you can maintain drive-ability.

Spend the money leftover on something shiny.

i thought about sts but think about how effective it actually is the turbo has to compress air back to the front of the vehicle, another thing with the remote mount system in the ls1's is the location alot of water and debris will be getting on the turbo i think the hp performance kit is better all around it even come's with a tubular k member fuel system upgrades and everything you need for $4800 if you doubt the quality of HP performance look up gttt on youtube and watch the imvfilms ford GT

After witnessing all the headaches my friend went through when he put STS on his 02 SS, you couldn't pay me to put that junk on any of my cars.

my brain is scrambling to piece together what exactly i want to do the HP performance kit has to be the best kit in the market for LS engines but a heads/cam is adding durability and that nasty idle which scares children away

For 6-8K, I'd spend 7K on an APS twin turbo kit. Remote mount (STS) kits seem to have too many issues, and heads and cam will make the car less street friendly, especially with fuel prices.

Check it out on the APS website and see what you think. My second choice would be heads and cam though, since nobody offers a twin screw supercharger for our cars.

yea i saw that aps twin turbo kit its an aussie based company, i didnt like the dealer they had close to my location, they didnt seem like a performance shop, when i looked under the trans am catalog/performance all they had was some seal beamed projector headlamps that are rediculously expensive.

+3 NO To STS!!! one time i called for info and they automatically wanted to send me a kitt on the spot when my question was how much does it cost. to me it gave a way that im dealing with a company that is forcing their product to you and thats not a good thing, because sts turbos hang low and eventually something is going to knock it out of there.
