straight pipes? lose or gain power

I have a 00 ws6 thinkin of doin straight pipes will I lose or gain power. Any opinions help

no you wont lose power, depending what you have now you might not gain any either.

i was thinking of doing a custom straight x pipe set up and wondered the same question. current set up is lts, oryp, hooker catback

They are very cheap and its pretty much the same thing as straight pipes.

You can run lm1 resonators on a x

Personally I would get the loudmouth2 resonators a little more expensive but no where near the rasp of lm1 setup if you have or get long tubes.

Youll gain some power for sure, but what you need to ask yourself is the extra power vs. cost worth it to you.

A few years back (around 2001) , Car Craft actually looked into the "straight pipe vs catt'ed" debate. They noted that with a good high flow converter design , you actually GAINED torque over a straight pipe exhaust. They mentioned that it actually "straightened" airflow (reduced turbulence) in the exhaust.
