Sticky Pedal/TB, only when runing
I just swapped my TB for a PP one. When the car is running the pedal/tb is very sticky when it first opens. When the car is off it feels fine.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I had to remove my TB, loosen the idle stop screw all the way out, and then loosen the 2 screws that hold the TB blade to the shaft. Open and close the TB a few times. That'll recenter the blade. Tighten up the 2 screws that hold the blade to the shaft and recheck to make sure TB doesn't stick. Then readjust the idle stop screw back to where it was and reinstall the TB.

I tried that, no dice unfortunately.
The fact that this only happens when the car is runing I think leads me to believe that either the hole needs to be a little bigger (i only have bolt ons), or when the blade is closed, the seal is too tight. Comparing my stock vs my PP TB, the PP TB has a much tighter seal around the edges.
I even tried using the old blade on the PP TB..no luck.

Turn in the idle screw some. Don't let the blade close completely, or it will stick.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the throttle blades on a slight slant? I replaced a water pump on an 04 Suburban and I looked at the throttlebody while the intake elbow was off and noticed it looked like it was slanted a lil bit.

mine used to stick because of vaccum when the engine was running, i adjusted the blade a little and the idle screw and it solved my problem.

I had one with a hole to large & got a rubber wire grommet to stick in the hole. If you try this, make sure it fits tight, so it doesn't suck into the motor ! LOL !!!
