    Stall converter

I just bought a 2000 WS6 A4. As far as I can tell its all stock. People have told me to get a stall converter. Can someone explain the advantages of one and which are the best ones and a website to get it.

A stall will make your car better off the line and it keeps your rpm up therefore increasing horsepower but if u dont have a cam i wouldnt go with anything bigger than a 3000 stall. i would go with a 2500 personally.

A Vigilante 3200 is a good start. But what are your plans for the car?

With no power adder, a 3600 or higher would be good.

    A) a stall converter is made to kick you out of the hole as quick as possible and put you into the cars powerband.
2500 rpm is not an LS1s powerband, 3000 rpm and above is.
B)stall converters do not make horsepower as you say.
C)seeing you dont have a fuckin clue of what you posting about, dont answer questions like above posters.

Read a little at Fuddle's site ( sponsor). John answers just about any question you have on there and he's a helluva nice guy to deal with. I've been running his stall for ~2 years with no problems at all. Personally, I wouldn't even consider a stall less than 3500 especially since you're gonna cam it.

If you want to see some funny responses to a stall question. Read the thread "My buds T/A is fast for no reason...".

keep in mind you almost have to install a trans cooler if you want the trans to last with a stall or even stock and its cheap insurance trust, me 9 4l60e's and a th350. I now run a stock convertor off a 2500 gas truck, its cheaper, a little stall, and better as a daily driver. dont go above 3000 for a street car but just my opinion. and the stall depends on gear, cam, weight, power/power adder. a 2500 on one car my be 3000 on another and its not exact it depends on how you put the metal down ie driving /racing

has anyone tried putting the guts of a 4l65e into the 4l60e body, i was told that the 65e was a bit stronger then the 60e.

the differance is the 65 has a 5 star planitary while the 60 is a 4 but thats not the problem with the tranny its a wast of money to change it. the problem is the input to the drum umung other things.
