They do sell sound proofing material that sticks to the floor and you put carpet over top of it. Wow that would be a pain project. I have 373's and I get some whining as well. I also have a Lincoln Aviator that has a rear end whine. Both drive me nuts.

Look in to some local shops taking the gears out and shimming them so they dont whine so much.

Lots of whine probably means that they were not installed properly. Several of my friends have 4.10 in there cars and the ones that took them to cheap shops have a lot of whine and the guys who took them to a reputable performance shops dont have any whine at all.

you need some one to make sure your gears have the proper back lash...

Also you can use a sound dampening product such as dynamat but all it is going to do is make it a little less noticable but it will not get rid of it completely and the stuff is not fun to install. Like I said earlier save yourself the trouble and get some one to look at those gears and make sure there installed properly. Also this will save you some weight since a product like Dynamat tends weigh a bit.

Plus, they keep raising the price of Dynomat.

I would recommend you have someone look at it as well.
