i know some v6 look different than others dont they....dont some look like the v8s....what special models are there....i have seen some with the blinkers and driving lights or whatever side by side and some on top of each other.....i know theres a firehawk a ws6 a transam which i know the ws6 is just a couple changes to transam....is it just the v6 thats called the firebird....what about the formula.....there are so many different things

    2000 pontiac trans am ws6

i'll try my best here..prolly someone will correct me..

Starting from top of the line:

Firebird Trans Am FireHawk - 5.7L 345 hp, slp parts on it
    Firebird Trans AM WS6 - 5.7L 320-325 (320 years 98-00) (325 years 01-02)
    Firebird Trans Am - 5.7 L 305-310 (305 years 98-00) (310 years 01-02)
Firebird Formula - 5.7 L 305-310 i think and has dual exhaust but doesn't have the sleek spoiler like the trans am, looks like a base firebird, but wit a v8
    Firebird - 3.8 L v6 single exhaust....lip spoiler

i hope that helps..if u see the sleek (high profile spoiler) most likely it's a trans am

Don't forget the Firebird Formula Firehawk, which is the fastest of the available models.

Trans Am- big spoiler with more promiment fog lights
WS6- Trans Am with ramair hood
firebird-more subtle fog lights with smaller spoiler

If i ever notice another firebird driving i always look at the spoiler first to see whether its a Trans am or a v6 firebird. Thats what makes the formulas a great sleeper car to unsuspecting people.

fixing to look this up, but i think your delusional.

edit.. i concede. really didn't realize the LT1's put out that much (granted, its bhp and not rwhp) and the LT4 firehawk packages were 330bhp

Thats just what they rated it. They were all rated under the real power it makes, and all run fairly similar. Probably to get people to opt for the WS6 vs. the base model

all ls1s will put out roughly 350hp to the fly..this will have small changes due to different lid and exhaust options..but there is basically less then a .1-.2 difference between them

Yes and the 98-2000 ls1 cars had a slightly larger cam than the 01-02 but the 01-02 had the 241 cast heads and ls6 intake manifold. Some of the 2000s had the 241 casting heads but no ls6 intake.

Better driver? We're talking about a car here. Put this better driver you speak of in the Formula Firehawk after the Trans Am Firehawk, and I'd be willing to bet it'll be faster, regardless.
