    Speaking of cleaning the engine bay, is ther certain things we need to cover on LS1 engines so they do not get damaged when cleaning the engine bay?

    Nothing. Just hit it with your favorite cleaner (simple green) and a garden hose. High pressure hose might be a bit much.

    Actually if you have an 01 that egr should not be there man do you have 241 heads or 853? If that is an 01 the previous owner took off the ls-6 manifold and swapped the ls-1 on it(downgrade), which is confusing since that means you have 00 and older exhaust manifolds to accept the egr.
