SLP Loudmouth?
How do you feel about the SLP Loudmouth? From what I've read it seems to be a pretty good cat back for the money and a lot of people seem to be happy with it. My question is, just how loud is it? I expect it to loud given the name, but I dont want my car to be unbearable to drive. How is it on the highway? Let me know what you guys think. Hopfully I will be putting exhaust on my car in the next few weeks.

Loudmouth - good with stock manifolds
Loudmouth - bad past that. I had to get rid of mine. Sounded like a high strung V6 more than it sounded like an LS1 with headers and a cam.
Rookie modding mistake on my part.

I have the SLP Loudmouth (#1) and it sounds MEAN as hell. Deffinetly turns heads, get lots of comments, wake up people in the morning (gf's brother), and when the ricers hear you, they back down lol. I would deffinetly go with SLP if I were you. I have all stock beside that. On the highway with windows down you can hear it pretty good, widows UP you can barely hear it at all. Listening to Music, forget hearing it. I bought mine straight from slponline.com Best $500 purchase I ever could have made. Tips look great to, SLP tagged on them. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

The loudmouth does sound good with the cats in, but take out the cats and it sounds like crap, its way to raspy without the cats. LT's or stock manifolds with the cats it sounds good. I got tired of it and switched to a borla. I put an electric cut-out in the back where the plates go and another cut-out under the passengers seat, much better.

Loud Mouth
We just installed the SLP LM on my sons 2002 SS (stock car) and It was easy to install (1hr with car lift) most of that time was setting the pipes even for the bad to the bone chrome tips to line up. The sound is great. On the Hwy in 6th @ 70mph it is a small hum. (Not loud at all) Between 2500 to 5000
It is pretty loud but sounds mean and people will turn there head.
Very happy with SLP!

LTs, ORY, loudmouth = really loud
poor mans borla = put a $100 universal borla in the stock location, when combined with the above setup, = killer

I am all for loud.
But I want it to sound good. Might just be me I guess.
Cam, LT's, and Loudmouth sounded horrible on my car.
My duals with Magnaflow mufflers are about the same when it comes to loudness. But damn do they sound better.

As everyone said, stick with the stock manifolds and the cats. I recently lined up with a Camaro that had sounded nasty. After the race, he told me that he had the same LM exhaust that I had. Only difference was that he had headers and no cats. I'm an audiophile so i like my stereo. And when I'm listening to my music, I barely notice my exhaust unless I'm getting on it or the windows are down.
