Are you comparing the "lower airbox" of a WS6 to a non-WS6 car? It sounds like you're talking about the "raised lower airbox" that is unique to WS6s. I don't think SLP made anything special that replaces that piece.

If you go on e bay, you can search WS6 and most likely see the "raised lower airbox" in a couple of auctions.

If that IS what you're looking for, you DO have a WS6 hood to go with it, right? 'Cause I don't think you can raise that airbox and get a regular Firebird hood to close on it.

Is there any performance gains with the raised lower air box? or was is it just another way to differ the WS6 and Trans Am? If so is it worth getting if you have the ram air hood or just use the SLP lids?

im wonderin the same thing.... but some part of me's gotta think if a smoother lid can make such a difference then there being a nice open flow space has to have some effect. i always thought the regular ram air opening seemed small..

I always thought that the lids and the slp cold air kit that goes underneath it were better for camaros than T/A's. I was looking into getting the volant air box for the T/A. I have a WS6 and to me if i get the full slp flow pac deal then there is no opening in the bumper like the camaro to suck air in with the bottom half slp thing.
