I have a 99 trans am ws6. Has anyone ever installed the SLP 400HP performance pac. It seem like a complete kit.

I havent. The only thing i have from that is the exhaust and lid. (by the way great mods for starters) The MAF, handheld tuner, smooth bellows and all that other junk you dont really need. The only thing worth it is the exhaust, lid, and headers. If you have a loudmouth, ppl often suggest not to get headers. It gets way to loud and raspy. If you want to take the risk DO NOT i repete DO NOT GET SLP HEADERS. Just ask Mr Luos hes had some experiance. If you want to spend the same amount of price for headers as SLP i suggest you get KOOKS or QTP. If you want to save a couple $100 then get HOOKER supwer competition with ceramic coated. But i honestly wouldnt buy it. But hey thats just me.

It is a complete kit.
Complete waste of money.
Seriously...the MAF isn't worth anything. The headers are an old design.
Piece something else together. Bolt-ons.
Magnaflow catback. Airbox lid. $5 smooth baffle (Fernco from Home Depot), Pacesetter longtubes and y-pipe.
Good to go...cheaper and WITH customer service...unlike if you bought from SLP.2008 Trailblazer SS
Yank PTB3600, Kooks 1 7/8" LT's, 4" intake, E-fans, Magnaflow, Sonnax kit, tranny cooler, tune.
Lowered, HID's, tinted.

Get a tow strap and hook up to the back of Mr. Lous car. That car probably can tow you passed a 02 Z06....
There are many ways to get there. How deep are your packets? Turbo, SC, N2O, Heads / Cam, Cam bolt-ons and gear, the list goes on.......

Decent cam with supporting mods. Bolt-ons, and a tune.
All set.
Sounds easy, but it can get costly. Probably looking at $3K.
Remember, this would be an actual 400 RWHP number.
Not like that boasted claim SLP give you.Last edited by Mr. Luos; 03-17-2006 at 05:12 PM.

Mr. Lous is correct. A cam, l/t headers, full exhaust, induction mods, and tune should get you to or over 400 rwhp. Parts alone is about 1500 (if you buy some new and some used) + 500 for the tune. On top of that add labor....
Gene
400 might not get you around that Vette either. We don't race on the dyno......

Side note - my friend got all the slp bolt-on from the factory on his hardtop 01 SS and they told him 401 hp. Went to the track 13.2 - WTF? I have seen stockers run faster than that out of the box..... Some cars just run better than others....

Yeah that 400 RWHP still might not beat the 02 Z06, just to let you know Good goal though, I agree with above, go bolt ons with the supporting mods, SFC, LCA and all that. LT's with ORY and a nice sized cam along with a LS6 manifold will get you there along with a tune. Good luck

A friend's 2002 put down 370 RWHP. Paper filter stock.
Plus as light as they are.

That is true about the 405 at the FW, but as Mr Lous say they have the weight advantage. My car did 308 at the wheels about 3.5 years ago with a lid and catback at 1,500 miles. To compare just before me was an 01 Vette with exhaust and tune (A4) that did 270 rwhp. All dynos are different and are only good to compare if you are using the same dyno.
