its a easy swap. and you dont have to do anything else. but if you dont have your fan settings changed or put in a Switch for your fans you wont gain anything from putting a 160 in.

also if you buy one make sure you buy one for a 98-02 ls1. Jegs sold me a 160 for a 04+ ls1 and i had to make it work, dremel saved my ass 04+ thermo in a stock thermo housing

go to www.installuniversity.com/ click ls1 installs, and then on the left side click install documents. full walkthrough. and probably a good site to bookmark.

I've read that the Throttle body bypass is a complete waste of time. A cold air mod will give more benefit.

Not sure what other opinions are on this though.

I did the TB bypass...and I have to say...that it the TB is infact Colder then the engine itself after it's been run...and that's pretty much the point... letting colder air in... not really a gain in HP...but it just helps the ram air be more efficient

i would suggest getting just the thermostat. i got one from jegs in the housing that didn't fit and one from orielly's that was the same. i went back to jegs and just got the replacement thermostat to fit in the stock housing.

True, but the TB bypass is free, and it's just switching a few hoses. On a long run it can probably help alot.
