93-97 formulas had center sections like that,

you could also wet sand and polish a normal one

Instead of doing that you can just use acetone on a rag and wipe the faded red paint away. Then there is no sanding involved to mess up. That is what I did to mine like 8 years ago and it still looks decent. You can even see the outline of the bird and stuff at night in the reflections of headlights.

I like that you can see a subtle reminder of what was once painted.

Then it can be painted on & clearcoated!
I've got one extra I could do for ya, but it won't be cheap.
    PM if seriously interested.
I've done NBM, SOM, Artic White, & Sebring Silver on them before.

A little deeper tone, ..., No more rattle on the leftside, ...
I'll get a little black paint inside the tips tomorrow to help the view.
Of course they'd be black on the inside in a few weeks anyway, ...

personally i am not a fan of those tips for one reason. the hole in the tip looks off center. it should be a real tip and tapper into the "hole" that is centered in the tip

thats why i prefer the GMMG over these....plus IMO they fit the bumper better

"Looks" is right, ..., but they are not off-center.
    The inlets/outlets are symmetrical.
And IMO, they fit the opening very well. That's why they are on my car.
