Well I know I have owned both a4 in a 2001 WS6 and 2 m6's in 2000 WS6. On the street the 2 m6's where hell hooking up if you where doing like a 3000-3300 clutch dump. In my a4 on the street it would spin through 1st and chirp 2nd but that is just screwing around. Hooking your car up is good man. I know of a buddy that has a 97 lt1 car and he put headers and acouple more things and it hurt him in the 1/8th mile. It let his car breath way to much. You might need to get a tune to probably see any difference.

I test drove a 96 Z28 with an LT1 and an A4. Car had headers, offroad Y, no cats, borla cat-back, K&N Intake, BBK TB, all kinds of shit and my car would just dominate it. LT1's are a joke.

LT1s arent a joke they just need the proper work, my friend has a 96 z28 with mods his is a m6 and i only beat him by 1 car, he has alot more work done to his car but it also has 109k on it, they can be fast. He is trying to sell it and get a ls1 lol. So if anyone wants a z28 with rims i dotn know all his mods he also has exhaust the exits at the middle of his rear bumper.

I wouldn't say they are a joke. I had a 2001 WS6 a4 and my bro had a 97 WS6 a4 and from a dead stop till about 70-80 I couldn't mess with him but topend he couldn't hang with me either. Lt1's are fast as hell out the hole but that is it.

once u go from rolling....ur tires dont get hot enough to leave a mark...if u would hold the brake a lil and slow the car down then they would lite up....but staying in it ur just getting to more and more road to heat...not leaving marks...'

wait till u get alot of power...then they will roast

I have a 2000 ws6. It hooks pretty well too. But that is not a bad thing. At the track I ran a 13.29 with a 1.98 60'. Bone stock.

When I had my 99' A4 loved it had lid, and exhaust. When I was about to race at the track/street also. I would pre-load to about 1.5 rpms. And on that 3rd honk or green light just hook like a champion. I had the 3.23's loved them. Me and my buddy raced from a 10 roll, he has a 02' ws6 m6. I stayed with him till he put it in 4th but by then the 1/4 was already over. And he had headers, exhaust, lid. I still believe my car was a freak for some reason it was one of the quickest cars in my town. And at the track it only turned a 13.4 at 104 mph on street tires. But on the street it felt so much faster. just my insight.

This is just an idea, I'm not sure of any of this. But you have a WS6, which comes with an upgraded suspension. Mabey if the suspension is that much better it would hook up that much better. ?

I've got a 2000 ws6 with an a4, and 3.23s. I'm running firestone firehawks all around. If you just nail it from a dead stop it will lay 2 full gears of rubber, but if you roll into the throttle(quickly) it just chirps and takes off. By the way it's bone stock and runs 13.30s on street tires with a 2 flat 60'.

I had to switch to DRs, in my a4 from a dead stop and pre loading to about 1700 rpms it would lay down a massive burnout, I went all the way down my street for a good 75 yards, it was crazy hooking up is half the battle...
