Seals
How often do you guys remove your t-tops. I read that you are suppose to use silicone on the seals. Is that the spray kind or the jelly type? I never have removed mine fearing they would leak.

never removed them and you live in FL, how?!?!
I take mine off all the time and have no leaks. Haven't used silicone either. My seals still look good.

We rarely ever take ours out either. They don't leak but I doubt they would even if I removed them more frequently. The rubber is still in excellent shape. I go over the seals with a dressing like silicone you mentioned usually once a year. That's about how often they come out

Shame on you Firebird. The weather is perfect up there to take them out for almost half the year. Down here, I like to take mine out in the winter, and cruise around with the heat on. Perfect. Heat at your hands and feet, cold in your face. And, the op was wondering how to apply it. Spray or wipe on.

I do know that the manual shows how you should take them off and on- DONT take them off and drag the panel off at a level angle! you put them on/off at a 45 degree( or angled at least) angle so you dont wear out the edges, those are the pieces that will wear out and leak.

I use spray silicone on T-top and door seals around once per year. I usually spray it on, wipe it off to get all the nasty stuff off, and then spray it again with a light coat. If your aim is good and you use a piece of cardboard, a folded up newspaper, or something similar to block the overspray as you go there won't be any mess.
