Saw a Red TA on the Road

For about a year, I've been paying extra attention to cars like mine. I've seen a few dozen LS1 Trans Ams, mostly black, one yellow anniversary edition repeatedly (a local), at least one pewter, and a local NBM repeatedly. I finally saw a red one, plain TA, not WS6, but still sweet, the color I'd most like to own. It was the second most common color. What's the deal with them not being around? Slightly higher value makes their owners garage them? Texas seems to have plenty of them, not that I'm in Texas to know if they're actually driven. Bonus question: am I right that the '98+ red is a slightly different shade from earlier red 4th-gen Birds?

I'm always on the lookout as well. And now that you mention it, for as popular a color as red was, I don't see many around here either. I have only seen one other red TA WS6, and one red Formula. I see many others around here in all makes and colors but just the two in red...

I see plenty of red Firebirds in CA. I have a red 98 Formula and the color looked the same as my old red 96 WS6 Formula.

Yo, I have a SOM 'vert 6m Ws6 and I have never seen another one anywhere. I've been to the T/A Nats 3 or 4 times and was the only one there. I saw a pic of one in HPP magazine at a car show that I wasn't at so I know there is at least 1 other ragtop my color. I've seen 4 or 5 Firebirds or T/A's in this color but very rarely. Anybody know how many of the SOM, WS6, 6M 'verts were made ?

Where in SoCal? As for the color on older cars, I was basing it on a red Camaro, which maybe is faded.

there is a red T/A vert 2000 m6 ws6 that was just traded in at red hill ford Pennsburg PA
appears to be clean 7/31/2010

I live in Houston, I see mostly NBM and Pewter the most. I rarely ever see white WS6s. I just saw one for the first time in years just the other day, it was pretty nice. One thing I have noticed the most though, I never see Trans Am when I am actually driving my WS6, I only see them when I drive my DD.

I live in central Illinois and i have only seen one other red Trans Am in the past couple years but my neighbor has a SOM WS6 and I see pewter black and white ones and a NBM FireHawk from time to time

By my i've seen couple red T/A's and formulas,black color ones i see the most but i have not seen any white T/A by and i've been looking for a long time

Ah I just passed a blonde babe in a white ws6 formula. I've seen her a few times, she never even looks at me when I wave. Grr.
