Chamelion- 1998 Trans Am Convertible
Replacing Rear Shocks
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I am having a very difficult time finding the top bolt to remove the rear shocks. I have a 1998 trans am convertible. I lowered the rear seat and lifted up the carpet. The only place I could possibly find would be under this real sticky black material? if this is the location, this will surely rip and be useless again. How can I replace the black substance? Thanks.

On my LE vert when you let down the seat at the edge there are 2 places where carpet can be pulled out and the top bolts are covered by a foam rubber for sound dampening purposes.

Thanks for the info. it seemed like a really weird spot to put the top bolts, but whatever works.
