Red Logo Fading Between Tail Lights
The red logo on the piece between my tail lights is really starting to fade. I have a black '00 TA, and I am open to any suggestions. From the appearance mods I have seen, I am leaning toward a silver logo or just sanding it to a smooth black finish. What do you guys think?
Has anyone seen any write-ups on this? Thought about just taking a shot at it, but if anyone has some lessons learned, that'd be great!

All Black- 83, 87, 02 All WS6 T/As
Mine was still good.. but was going to a silver sceme and someone else's was fading.. so we swapped middle sections.. and I just took some mineral spirits and a rag, and the rest came off... then just grabbed a new vinyl bird and slapped it on.

I know somone who does customs, ...
But they don't come cheap.
PM for details if you are seriously interested.
$65-85+ & s&h
But new ones from GM will cost you over $115+ from the stealership.
These have the matching Phoenix bird as the front plate also.
If you have the materials to work with, you can easily remove the leftover logo with nail polish remover, then wet-sand with 1500-2000grit wet-sandpaper, & polish back to a nice clean unit. I've been doing that to them for years & reselling them.Last edited by PontiacFan; 01-18-2010 at 05:09 PM.

Metallic Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS.6
Not that this helps you out now, but from day one I took maguires plastic shine (made to bring back fading black parts on cars) and took about a quarters worth each time and rubbed it on, let it dry for a sec, then rubbed it off. My logo still looks brand new.

Blue- 2000 TA
Use some plastic polish to remove the red and then get a new decal from 4th Circle Designs.
