My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
rearview mirror lights are out
So for the last Auto X i removed my review mirror and I think either the lights are burnt out, or the batteries are dead (is it battery powered?) I mean, i can't see any chord going to it from the car, so i figured it was battery powered, but how the hell can it tell if the doors are open if it's not syncd to the car?? So i'm wondering if it's not powered by battery, could it be a contact issue with the metal gizmo on my windsheild??

The mirror is NOT battery powered.... There is a port on the driv side rear of the mirror where it plugs in, the wire comes from the roof under the front edge of the headliner....

thank you. I didn't remove the mirror-my buddy did, and i called him and asked "why does Ls1 think i'm retarded b/c my mirror won't light up" and he told me b/c he tucked the little power wire up under the roofliner.
We removed it so that my camera would have a clear shot during the race.

Perhaps the other members of LS1 were thinking like I was.... this guy has over 21,000 posts, has obviously been on this site for a while, most likely has read almost every post presented, obviously cares for his bad to the bone car, but yet when he cleans the inside of the windshield, HE HAS NEVER SEEN THE WIRE GOING TO THE REARVIEW MIRROR?????? There is a part of the wire that CANNOT be tucked up, it runs from the visor area in open airspace to the rearview mirror....usually when there is a wire, there's electricity... Hellllooooooo, anyone home McFly? I must be blatantly frank with you...I could not believe what I was reading when you were asking if it was battery powered....Hey, maybe it's satellite powered from outer space....or maybe it's powered by the electromagnetic fields coming from the center of the earth....hahahaha. Some things to me are just obvious, maybe they aren't so obvious to others..... obviously!!!!! Hence the reaction from the other LS1 members.

Ok, I owe you an apology. Someone else disconnected your rearview mirror wire from the rearview mirror, so that you could hook up a camera that was placed right above the rearview mirror. When you took the camera out of the car, you didn't see the wire originally hooked up to the rearview mirror, because your buddy hid it from you up in the roofliner, so, consequently, you were wondering how the rearview got it's power since you didn't see a wire anywhere in the vicinity. I understand, and again, I apologize for dissing you the way I did. Please forgive me?
