where do you guys get your information from? it was an option, and standard on all cars after 00' according to GMHTP and many others. i've seen them on countless non-ws6 cars. also, it's a POS anyway. i would rather my car didn't come with it (00' non WS6 btw). some claim it actually heats up the fluid, while others have had it leak and mix power steering fluid/coolant.

the hood and wheels are the only things worth upgrading to from the WS6 package. also, 3.23's are nice for autos but my car came with them anyway. the 1LE springs are okay too, but didn't come on all years.

the 32mm swaybar is still too small IMO(had one, upgraded it), the shocks still suck, the phb has different bushings woo-hoo, the cooler doesn't work, and you're going to upgrade the exhaust anyway.

Incorrect. Power steering cooler was an option available at least on regular Trans Ams. Salesman went down the list when I ordered mine and asked if I wanted it. I declined.

And yes the filter needs cleaning more frequently.
Well, we all know races are won at idle, eh? LOL.

I got my info from reading car magazines about the P/S cooler. And from what others have said, the others are always right, right? lol. I was mostly being sarcastic when saying about it anyway, I would rather have a stand alone PS cooler in front of the condensor, it'd probably work better and you would not have the coolant/PS fluid mixing risk you stated.

If you just compare stock vs. stock, the package is an improvement; however, aftermarket stuff can work even better, as we have found out.

sooo you're calling me out for listening to "others" when you're the one who was wrong? that's silly.

anyway, i figured you weren't serious. just making sure everyone had their facts straight, not here to argue. you definitely seem to know your stuff.

but when it comes to selling your car, nomatter what you've upgraded beyond WS6 specs. (like mine), it won't matter if you had the hood or not (well, hood makes it a bit better), people want the damn WS6 code 'cos it's embedded in their head that it's the only model worth having. The first question is, "is it a WS6 car" ... ugh, I don't even waste time explaining

Naw, I wasn't calling you out, I was calling myself out about listening to others. I'd never heard about the PS cooler being a stand alone option until this thread, always thought it was WS6 only. It's probably on SS cars, and an option for them in 2000 (or whatever year)-up like the Trans Ams.

very true. of course if sleek beaks held their value like ws6's, i wouldn't own one in the first place so i can't complain. also, people expect less out of us "base models" which makes it even more fun to rip around turns and watch them smack their heads on the ttop bar.

LOL at that. Funny how some people can handle fast acceleration, then they start freaking out when you go thru a few fast curves, especially when the oversteer starts!

I special ordered my car and didn't opt for it. I didn't care. I did want a WS6 at first but I ordered in 2001 and they just switched the wheels on em to the ugly ones. I wasn't about to spend an extra $3,600 on wheels that I was gonna swap out anyway. No regrets.
