Ram Air conversion?
I have an A4 '01 T/A. I was thinking about converting it to Ram Air with the WS6 hood. Anyone know if that is even possible, and how much it would cost?

All you need is the hood and lower airbox. but you can get away with just the hood. But if your looking for a performance gain it's not worth the money. And yes it's a direct swap.

Cool, thanks. Wasn't looking so much for a performance boost as I just really like the hood design.

Yeah, that does look really nice. I saw something like that on a different website, but it was over the budget my wife has set for me.

Thought I had read on another thread that those were prone to cracking or splitting.

I've had mine on 2 different cars now in 2 years, not once has it done anything of the sort. Im very pleased with it and doubt it will ever cause me issues.
If it does have issues in the future, it will more than likely be the next owners problem because I know im not gonna be hanging onto this car for more than a year or 2.

I bought mine about 18 months ago from ramairhoods.com. I had to make some mods to the hood hinges...ovaling them out to get the right fit, but other than that, I love it. The color matches very closely. Bought the Volant CAI to compliment the hood as well.

what do you guys think about the hood from ramairhoods.com, should i be worried about the paint matching? what about the fact that its fiberglass...is that a problem?

My hood is not fiberglass, it is plastic and very light weight. The only drawback to this hood is the fact you have to use a hood prop rod and can't use the stock hood supports because they are for a heavier hood and they would eventually warp the plastic one.
The paint matches very well even though the rest of the paint is original '98 paint, but the car has been garaged a lot so not too much as far as color fade. You can tell they did not wet sand the paint on the hood because there is a little more orange peel compared to the rest of the car, but you have to be so damn close to the paint to see that it's not an issue for me.
