    Ram Air box

Can someone please put a picture out here of a Ram Air box? I just bought one off of E-bay that the guy said came off a 2001 Trans Am WS6. I just got it today and it's the exact same fricken one I have except it has the Ram Air sticker on it. I think I'm getting screwed here and need to see the difference between my lower air box and a lower Ram Air box.

    Thanks

Sent you a pm Chris. Those airbox lids suck for fitment but, it can be manipulated. Back tabs prob.

The air lids are the same except the sticker...the air boxes are noticably different. The WS6 box is about an inch or so taller.
This is the lower air box on my WS6:

You mean what is the difference in height for the stock TA and Camaro airbox/radiator upper support vs. the WS6? Well, I just measured mine and it is about 1.75 inches tall for the air inlet for the lower airbox/radiator support. The non-WS6 height is about half that. I don't have a picture handy, but this should help. If you really need a picture I can take one and post....

That's exactly what I was looking for. The guy sent a stock air box but threw a Ram Air box lid on it.

    I'll have to contact him.

This is the one you bought isnt it:

I was going to bid on it and noticed it was the wrong lower box.

Man I hope you didn't pay $217 for the wrong box...plus shipping. When I had my '98 non WS6 TA, I bought an upper radiator support from the dealer for a WS6 and I know it was way less than that. And you already have the upper lid assembly. For this guy to advertise this as a 20 HP increase is pure BS. Now a lid by itself it worth ~10 HP, proven many times over.

No, I got mine for $125, which I thought was a pretty good deal (same seller though). I'll e-mail the guy and send it back. This is the 2nd one now : (

Also Chris, you could order a regular SLP lid and paint it white with a bird on it and Trans Am in lettering below. Seen lots that look cool other than the clear lid. Each person's pref. here is a pic that I found on Specialized Stainless.com

No, you shouldn't have to pay that either. I would also politely email him and tell him that his product is a standard stock V8 Firebird air box with a Ram Air sticker on it after you receive your refund of course.

Just not polite to falsely advertise products for sale. Just my two cents.

My engine bay will look totally different after next week....hehe.

He has listed another one (or relisted that one) knowing damn well its not a real Ram Air housing. Everybody should email him about it...and OP you should leave negative feedback for him before he screws someone else!

Get this, he told me he contacted a dealer and they told him that there were like 4 different Ram air set-ups for our cars!!! WTF!

I already left him positive feedback because he refunded my money along with shipping, but I agree, a bunch of us should e-mail him and ask him what's up so somebody else doesn't get burned.

EDIT: I filed a report with E-bay for misleading title description. There wasn't really a better option, but they will look into it.

Well he is obviously just a crook. He posted a picture showing how tall it is to cover his ass, but for someone that doesnt know the difference that wont help them.
