    Questions on miles

Hey guys, im new to ws6's and this whole world. I dont currently own a ws6, yet, but am going to buy one very soon and am looking at two locally to buy. I have a whole list of questions but for now im not going to annoy you guys and im just going to ask is 110-115k miles a lot for these cars? Am i going to be looking at a rebuild soon after i buy one? If thats the case then it will be done but if not then im going to spend some extra money on parts like exhaust and cams, then there comes more questions about that, but ill get to those later. Thanks!

I got 100 on mine right now, and im getting going on the modsx now, if it runs good, youre golden. listen to the rear end, clutch noises, and high revs for the valves. if it makes headlight noises, no biggie.

I've got 206,6xx on my z. Original motor and tranny. Only major parts I've had to replace were the fuel pump, BCM, and cam sensor. Oh yeah, and of course my drivers side window motor.

I bought it in July of '07. It had 162, 205 miles at the time. Still runs good. Pulls strong, and then purrs like a kitten. If you take care of it, they will last.

    Good luck.

    Sadly now demodded :(

My DD 98 Z28/M6 has 180,xxx and rapes ricers.

    Good enough?

FYI: I've driven the car to Cali 2X in the last year (I live in PHX). I trust driving it to NY if needs be. The only oil it uses it what drips (seeps really) out the oil pan in my garage (I'm too cheap to replace the pan gasket). It gets 17mpg city/27 mpg hiway. Will that work? Also: All that mileage is hiway mileage and car was women owned and not abused. Dealer serviced it's entire life so this may contribute to it's capabilities at this stage.

Nonetheless, my car is not the only high mileage LS1 car that I know about.

on a properly maintained ls1 those miles are no issue. my 02 ws6 has 204,xxx and runs like a top. i would recommend changing the rear axle lube at or over 100k if it has not already been done.

I did the whole fliud change/tune up when I bought the 98 with 160,xxx on it 2 years ago. Only thing it really needed was a radiator as it had a small leak. Out here in PHX with 115+ temps radiator condition is vital. Along with an AC recharge I've had to do nothing to the car (except change the dino oil every 3k miles - I don't use synthetic on this one). Even at this mileage car runs like a raped ape off the line!

i understand about the radiator,my grandfather lives in Meadview,Az (very close to Lake Mead,50 miles north of Kingman) i spent the summer out there when i was 14 (1991) and man it was hot, very different than the humid, sticky hot here in Alabama.we went to Lake Havasu to see the London bridge and it was 114 degrees that day, felt like opening a oven door. back on topic,i drove the t/a this afternoon and even with the 204k on the clock the ls1 ran smooth and strong.

If taken care of don't worry.
I had an lt1 that had 200,000+ miles on it and it wasn't taken care of and it still ran great.
