Arctic Whiite- 2001 Formula Firebird
A question no one wants to hear.
Has anyone seen or heard of a headlight modification converting the flip-ups to a solid, enclosed headlight assembly? I know it's not something Firebird lovers don't want to hear, but I'm tired of replacing broken motors and re-adjusting the alignment after little bumps. Go ahead and burn me if it makes you feel like a big man, but it is what it is.

Yes, there are a couple of companies that make headlight conversions. Most common place I've seen them is on Ebay just type firebird headlight conversion into the search bar. They look goofy IMO but its your car so its your call.

Personally I've only seen one kit before. They were ugly and I think they were like $1300 or something. In sure more companies make them now cause that was a while back. Post pics if you get them I'm curious.

There was a kit on ebay a while ago that made them look similar to the newer corvettes but it was like 1100 bucks.

Here's another option, doesn't eliminate the flip ups but gives you a brighter beam.

Gotta say i like the high output conversion kit though. I didnt really like the look of the non-popup headlights on birds. But having a brighter headlight setup would be welcome

Red- 1998 Trans Am WS6
I've got this conversion on my red WS6. It came on the car and I almost didn't buy it because of them but I couldn't pass up the deal I was getting for an M6 in this hemisphere. I grew to like em because I never have to worry about them and with some nexus polish they sparkle.
I know many purists have their misgivings as did I but they're not bad really. I like that they separate my car from the others (almost like a hybrid-vette) without going overboard like a spoiler connected to another spoiler. I just wish that the dude that I bought em from had kept the original parts so I could swap em back and forth as I grow for a change.
Are they worth a grand? Not IMO but like I said, came with the car.
If you do go on and swap, KEEP YOUR ORIGINALS. I've kept every original part for my mods. Never know.

Just wondering why anyone would buy a Firebird/Trans Am of this vintage, and then want a pop up headlight delete. If you don't like the hidden headlights, then why did you not buy a Camaro????? Amber DRL + foglights = sex.
