Question?
I no this may be more of a drag race question
but,
i have ran 9.05 stock 02 t/a a4 eighth mile...but i have added a fiberglass box with two ten inch speakers..and then i have two amps...i figure this is fifty pounds, prlly.05 of a second.
if i had 5 gallons of 89 octane in the tank, then added 3 gallons of 110 would i see a reasonable gain...and is the higher octane good for the engine, i have high poerformance sparkplugs...
also, how can i cool my engine down, i ussually run 210 degrees, and i hot lap it at the street legal nights.
any help would be appreciated...
thank you

High Ocatane is good for high compression motors and turbo charged and supercharged motors, it won't do anything for a motor that's stock. THe only benefit is it might be some extra insurance against any detonation. But as far as gains go i doubt you'd see any.

Alright. I would run 93 octane if it's available to you. The higher octane fuel is actually harder to burn.
If you wanna keep your car cooler, run a 160 Therm, and do the fan mod.

thanks..
i was figuring the wieght would give me more traction...but i figured down track where i dont need traction is when i would want the wieght off...
i dropped my tire pressure to 20 psi and that stopped me frome spinning past about 30 feet
thanks for everyones input.

The problem with high octane fuel is that it is usually leaded and will mess up your O2 sensors.

Very true, i used to run a heated O2 sensor in my gn when running race fuel they seem to last a bit longer with the leaded gas
