    Putting in aftermarket speakers

The speakers back seat panels of my '98 formula with the monsoon system are blown. I want to replace them with a set of Sony Xplode speakers they were cheap, and it was 2a.m when I decided I was going to put speakers in), but the wireing has me stumped. Should I just splice the 4 wires from the car into 2 for the speaker? Or are two for an amp on the speaker? Also, what size are the speakers in the hatch area?

post this into the stereo and electronics area. You'll get way more help there. I do know it's not as simple as just throwing some different speakers in there because the stockers are 2 ohm speakers. The sails are 6" and I *think* the subs are also but not positive on that.

also, if you have the monsoon system, the rear panel speakers only receive low frequencies. do not buy a full range speaker and put it in, because the mids and tweeters will not work unless you bypass the factory amp. I would go with a set of kicker 6 inch or get a component system.

most places will sell a speaker adapting clip. Go to a stereo shop and check. The rears are 6.5", fronts are 6.5"s with a tween pod. Rear is a combination 4" and something else but you're able to use a 6x9
