Have fun. Not too bad a job really. The fronts are only an issue if the top shock nut is seized...which it is most of the time

    Hello
I noticed you are getting ready to install some Koni's and Sam's Springs. I just wanted to suggest to you that I would highly recommend getting a adjustable pan hard bar to allow you recenter the rear end. Due to it shifting when the vehicle gets lowered. And that could cause some binding issues and possibly clearance issues as well. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
    Thanks

Brad, not to high jack this thread because I agree with you, but what are the odds that UMI will start making Watts links for the f-body?

I could really use a PHB but would prefer to go all out and get a watts link. I've been more than happy with every UMI part i've put on my car and would love to give the business if you were making watts links.

So you think you guys will ever be cranking them out?

yup, the back takes no time at all. The front though.....when i did mine both nuts were seized to the point where they needed to be welded/hammered off def. no bueno, so cross your fingers they aren't lol. O and if u haven't already you'll need to pick up a set of lca relo brackets for those new springs, pics plz

    Hello
Great to hear that you are satisfied with the quality and performance of UMI Performance. We have talked about it but nothing set in stone. Sorry for any inconvenience.
    Thanks Brad

Wow i can not believe i never reposted back in this thread. I feel so bad becuase people wanted to see the out look. bahaha well better late then never. The koni shocks and strano springs have been on now for over 2 1/2 years and i couldnt be happier about the outcome. The ride is Nice and the car has a nice mean stance. I would post the pictures from the install, unfortunately though all of the pictures I did have were on my old phone. I might be able to see if my buddy still has some pictures. Hope so if not i will post some pictures of the shocks and springs installed. They sure do look puuuurty.

Yes and no. The rear end was the easiest. Shouldnt take longer than about 30 mins with a lift. Maybe a little longer if you are doing it on the ground but fairly simple. The front will take you a little longer. You are going to need a spring compressor to remove the springs. You can borrow one of these from most autoparts stores. The nut holding the shock in place is going to be your biggest pain if it is rusted in place. If you have access to a grinder this will help out. If not you are going to need a hammer and a nice big chisel to beat the heck out of the nut until it brakes off. once that is done, inspect everything and make sure nothing is worn out or heavily rusted. Once you are satisfied you can put it all back together. If you need help or more advice just post and let me know. What setup are you going with btw? springs/shocks? And what part of Illinois are you from?
