Project WS87...
Never got around to actually posting a thread about my project.. but its finally starting to move along... bought the 87 Debadged GTA last year from a woman that had NO reason to be touching a wrench.. she swapped the 305 TPI for a "383 stroker from a truck" but couldn't ever get it to run. Said it needed a higher cold cranking battery... I thought BS.. but whatever.. price was good.. so got a dollie and brought it home.
A friend and I looked it over.. found the dist. to be loose. Moved it a few degrees one direction and the car tried to start.. moved it the other way.. and it fired right up.. (they never tried to time the thing!!!) Well it had exhaust leaks all over the place.. melted and disconnected wires everywhere.. hack jobs here and there.. etc.. it needed work.
Heres a video of the first time we got it atarted..
So at that point I decided it was my project car.. gonna tear it down, give the engine a once over.. and be good to go...
Tore the engine down.. it was a 350 block from advance or autozone with the stock 350 cam and crank.. just bored .060.. blah.
Bought an LT1 and 6-speed and decided I'd convert from auto to manual...
PITA!!!!! But its getting there... On with the pics...

You've done an awesome job! Keep up the good work! Too bad you don't have much help with it though

I liked the idea of being able to say that I did the work on mine, but I had no real choice but to have help and I thank you for that. It does go by faster with help, I will agree. Even having someone there just to talk to and keep you company is always better than going it alone.

What an awesome drive way! Looks like your doing a pretty good job so far. I may be doing some resto- work on a 91 formula in the near future. Is that one in the background factory paint?

Nope.. going for the semi sleeper look.. gonna get a custom badge from TSS.. but other wise.. moldings, GFX, badges, etc will be removed. Might put my logo (or the transformers symbol as some people call it.. lol) on the sail panels like my 02...
Thinking about shaving my door handles too...

Well.. a little update on my project... money has been a HUGE set back... but..
I've gotten the engine just about built..
Some sanding/priming/painting... and lots of new steering stuff..
Sanded and primered the interior..
Started working on the fenders...
Out with the old...
In with the new...
And the end of the day...
So I am almost to the point of mating up the engine/tranny/kmember.. then attaching to the car along with a different rear that HOPEFULLY will be coming soon...
Then whens shes back on her wheels, I will be tackleing the nightmare of redoing all the wiring to match a 4th gen engine harness to a 3rd gen dash harness...
