    With problem after tune.........

Hey guys well I finally got my car tuned by a profesional tuner and my 3.73 gears installed. He used HP tuners and about half way home on a 2 hour drive I pop my Service Engine Soon light......So I read the codes when I get home and they are p0171 Bank 1-4 "System too lean"... It has a code for all the banks but the car runs and drives fine!! So why is it doing this and could this be a major problem? And how do I fix it?

if it says too lean i would hold off driving it at least. too lean = detonation
IF you can get your hands on a air/fuel meter or a handheld to check, it could just be a bad sensor

Ok I used maf cleaner on my maf, and reset the codes. If it is not fixed how long until it takes for the Service Engine Soon light come back on? And if I was getting "detonation" wouldn't my car run like "Ass"? It runs like a top...runs great no spittering or sputtering.......anyone with some answers I would appreciate it......

Mine came back right away after I cleared the codes the first time before cleaning the MAF. The computer retards timing when it detects ping so it would slow somewhat but would be hard to feel. My car ran ok but my milage was down a bit and power was down a bit. Over oiled K&N was root of my evil. Not saying the filter was bad, but I used the theory that is some oil on the filter was good more has to be better wasn't very good.

Ok I am back, and as soon as I pull out of the driveway, the SES light pops again......i heard that is also may be cause by a vacuum leak, and I do remember having a crackin in a tube that I had used electrical tape to seal up below is a pic could this me causing it?........What bugs me the most is it was after the tune........could the tune have something to do with it?

That is the 02 sensors.. but the PCV system being unhooked most likely caused it.

Hook it back up, clear the codes and then try it again!

what is in the pic. You are letting unmetered air into your car. Hence the lean condition.

So you think that is the actual problem....the guy that installed my ls6 intake noticed the crack and taped it with electrical tape.......I haven't had any codes like that since, and now that i got the tune i have these codes are you sure that it isn't the tune that could be causing it.......and if not what is an easy fix for that shitty elbloe looking thing because it is in the long part of the tube and not the actual elbow itself?

If the SES light comes back on after you fix the hose, you have other issues.
