power seat motor issues?
im in the process of selling my `98 formy & the deal is almost done.when the buyer looked at it today his main complaint was the 6 way driver power seat doesnt move forward-backward.im guessing the motor needs replaced..any idea what it could be or most importantly how much fixing this could cost?

Not sure about the birds but it happend in my 5.0 convert and I got a manual track from the junkyard. They had power ones also but I rather solve the problem sor good. probably hit a junkyard though and get some motorparts for the seat cheap.

I fixed a GM truck the other month, it was stuck all the way back. Found on problem electrically, so I whacked it a couple times on the seat track with a hammer, it got unstuck and the customer has been happy ever since. That fixed it. There could've been something jammed in there I never did see, I've seen coins/metal things get stuck/jammed in the seat track like that before on ther cars.

O I C. We have two young kids ourself, and I am seeing how fast their expenses add up. I'm sort of thinking about selling my 1968 Le Mans ragtop.

When I bought my WS6 back in October of last year, the seat didn't move like it should. At some time it appears that the seat had been removed or replaced and the plugs got switched around between the three motors. If you're lucky it may just be a connection problem caused by someone in the back seat at some time with their foot up under the drivers seat.
