    1998 trans am

    possable blender door stuck?

    my 98 ta air and heat is stuck in the defrost position no matter what i set the knob to. How do i fix this?

    any work under the hood in the intake area recently? Do you hear it do anything when you switch it out of defrost? I would say you're looking at one of three possibilities. Heater controls (not very common), solenoid, or vacuum issue (most common). If you've replaced the intake or had it off you might not have got that small vacuum tube plugged in behind the intake on the passenger side.

    well now that you metioned it i have messed around the back of the intake. I put a vac cap on the back of the intake on the passenger side. I plugged a hole that had a tiny hard plastic hose coming out of it cause the hose had cracks in it and figured it would be better to plug it than try to find all of the cracks in the line. Is this the hose that controls the blender door?

    yep....that needs vacuum.
