THe value won't go any where for probably another 20 or so years till the numbers and parts start to become scarce. The plus side is the value may hold a bit better.

Well, seems Firebirds have always been a tad more rare and worth a tad more than a comparable year Camaro. Being an orphan won't reverse that trend, but may enhance it. But I doubt the "orphan factor" will be significant until years down the road. Killing Olds hasn't yet propped 442 values way above GS, GTO or Chevelle SS prices yet.

This SUCKS though, makes me an owner of TWO orphaned GM brands, Olds and Pontiac. Screw GM. CTS-V, Vettes and the '10 Camaro are the only worthy products now, and I doubt those will survive much longer. Does GM really need 3 truck brands (Chevy, Cadillac and GMC) to go with the 3 remaining car brands (Chevy Cadillac and Buick)?? Rediculous.

    GeMoCo is the new FoMoCo

No, it's not like there are alot of Pontiac-specific parts, and for the parts that ARE specific (like exterior/interior/trim), there's enough Pontiacs running around to keep the demand high enough for them to keep being produced.

And once the OEM stops making parts, our cars will be old enough and popular enough for companies like YearOne to step in and start making parts.

I just think it's dumb though, to get rid of Pontiac. You have 4 different divisions making a version of the same SUV, and that's okay, but you can't keep a division that has a few brand specific cars?

Do they REALLY need Chevy AND GMC trucks?? They're identical except for minor sheetmetal trim differences.

While I actually prefer the look of the GMC's, I say get rid of GMC. They don't make anything that Chevy already doesn't.

While I'm not in the market for a new car now, it's a shame the Solstice and G8 have to die, those are two really good cars.

Maybe they can slap a bowtie on the G8 and call it a Chevelle or Biscayne or something like that. And how about the Solstice as the Buick 'Wildcat'?
