    Picked up a 00 WS6 M6 and I need to beat.....

I picked up a sweet 00 WS6 Trans Am M6 with only 36k miles. I've wanted this exact car since 98 when they first came out.

A buddy of mine at work has been talking up his 06 Mitsubishi EVO that has exhaust, professionally tuned and a boost increase. I need to make sure that if and when we do decide to give it a go I'm not going to embarrass myself. My car is 100% stock. I'd prefer to keep my car a sleeper and stick with unnoticeable mods. I was thinking maybe the CheatR package from Thunder Racing. I live in AK so I have to pass the sniffer test. I have about 2-3k to invest in mods including labor. What do you all think I should go for?

Or am I crazy and should just leave my car stock until I rack up the miles? That could be a few years though since I live in AK and this will be strictly a summer cruiser.

If you want a "sleeper Ws6" (if there is such a thing) I would say get the basic's : ls6 intake since your a 2000 , exhaust, lid, headers.

Well the best part about the F-body is that a lot of the mods you can do are not somethings that you can just look at it and tell what it is. Get a lid with a K&N filter, (around 70 bucks) 4.10 gears, Sub-frame connectors, short shifter, and some exhaust work like LTs. Its a nice car so it would be expected for it to sound mean as hell. I think anything else would be noticble but maybe somone else on here can give you better tips. Good luck with the race and post up some pix

Yeah I guess you're right. Anything with that Ram Air hood isnt going to look like a sleeper. I keep reading that LT headers are illegal. Do they make long tubes with all of the fittings and what not to make them legal? I've seen shorty and mid tubes that are supposedly legal but up in AK you have to pass a "visual" and sniffer inspection.

Good to know. Im going to have to practice some launches with that M6. I'm running out of precious Alaskan Summer time before the snow hits so I'm going to have to get on the ball.

Yeah and if your racing at the track evos have to come out of the hole slow. Unless they have built trannys. THe trans cant handle the abuse. My buddys is already starting to show signs of falling apart :P

my boss has a 06 evo 5 speed and i raced him both at the drags and on the freeway. i have an auto, stock 02 ta. i beat him both times. on the drags i got him by 3 tenths of a second and on the freeway we did a rolling start at about 50mph, he pulled a lil in front by maybe half a car but once we hit around 100 i took the lead and started to pull away. the 2006 evos are alot slower than the evos made before it for some reason i believe

CheatR cam will do it only if you have a good tuner near you and with you being in alaska, I'd be wary on what you do cause I don't know if there are many good LS1 tuning shops out there

Spray the shit out if it. The ls1 can handle a 100 shot all day on stock motor and he will never know it.

Whats a quality safe spray kit for a stock motor? I have ZERO experience with NOS.

I wouldn't spray on a stock engine to be honest especially once you start racking up the miles. Good chance you'll wash out the cylinder walls and have ring to wall sealing issues. I've seen it before.
