if you want to make it faster but keep it quiet for you neighbors, do Long tubes, ORY or catted, and magnaflow exhaust.....the magnaflow exhaust will make it SLIGHTLY louder than stock even with the LT's at idle but when you get on it it will open up. The volant intake compared to the SLP cold air intake isnt going to have a noticable difference. Between the 2 intakes its all based upon the looks.

if your interested in a real simple exhaust upgrade I have an slp large Y pipe. Its bigger than stock, is not flattened under the drivers seat, bolts in with no problems. I just switched mine out. It does make the car a little louder.

I like the look better than the lid and on my car. Plus seals againt the hood nice and with the hood cut out you can see the filter line up with the grills.

I also want to change the exhaust. I was looking at both the Borla cat back and Hooker cat back, still haven’t decided which one to go for. My questions are should I be considering headers and an ORY at this time, I don’t want the car to be annoyingly loud where the neighbors are complaining. Also should I be getting SFC’s. I’m open for any other suggestions, the car is used for basic weekend fun I just want more kick to it.

    Thanks for you help.

Your first mod should be a lid. I have the slp lid and have no complaints. Brand doesnt really matter though, a lid is a lid. Next I would go with a cat back. I have magnaflow on mine. It sounds amazing. Quite at idle, but it gets mean fast. Most exhaust systems on these cars sound alike. The only one that really stands out to me is loudmouth. Its not really good sounding in my opinion, but its very loud. Kind of an undefined loud where as magnaflow, corsa, and other brands have a nice deep rumble to them. Headers would be my number three. Expect a gain of around 20 hp give or take. This will make the car sound alittle louder as well. Pacesetters seem to be most popular since they are a quality header and can be had for around 350 dollars coated. Lastly I would say get some 4.10 gears if you have an m6, 3.73's would work better with an a4. They will really make a difference, and cut down your 1/4 time. If your car is an auto I would look into a converter as well. Lid+Catback+headers should give you around 330-345rwh which is right around 400 at the crank. That might seem high to you but these cars were a bit underrated from the factory and make around 350 horsepower bone stock. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Good luck with it and the most important is to have fun with the car. Built it with what you like. Most people on here hate SLP parts I happen to like my Slp catback better than any of the ones my friends have and the lids are cool but I liked the Volant look. There are some cool lids O have seen in clear and carbon fiber to set it apart from the plane black.
