    pcv valve

it's time to do the first oil change so i went to the auto parts store and bought all the filters the book showed. one item was a pcv valve. i know these have always gone in the valve cover but i don't see it on the ls1. where is it at?

You'll find it in front of the intake near the passenger side head. It's actually stuck inline of the large 3/8 vacuum hose running through that area.

have you followed the line all the way back? I ask because they usually crack at the point just behind the intake manifold. there is a splitter there and that is usually where it breaks.

i recently changed mine for the first time and it took me a sec to find. when i did mine the new one didnt seem to have a valve. i could look straight thru it. is that normal? i feel like i defeats the purpose.

On this 99 Z I recently acquired, the car makes a loud "honing" noise at idle that I traced to the PCV tube that elbows in front of the head. Hopefully it wont be a PITA to replace
