Paint Problems
Ok, I am at wits end!!!! Anyone have a solution to my problem? I have a 2001 Trans Am that was black and I have the notorious bubble effect on the roof panel. I brought it to the paint shop to have the entire car repainted. It looks gorgeous!!! BUT, before it was even assymbled it started to bubble already...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF???? How can I fix this permenantly? I suggested for them to cut the entire section out and patch it, but they said it might still bubble cause the air might be coming from a lower area of the panel and just raises to the highest point...anyone cure this problem before?
Please help!!!!

Midnight Blue- 2001 WS6 TRANS AM
I have the problem too. My brother-in-law works in the auto industry and its a factory defect due to the adhesive under the panel... I dont have the money for a new panel so mine still bubbles..

Metallic Blue- 2001 Trans Am
I am having the same problem. I read that some people have been lucky enough to get a dealership to replace the panel without any cost. But it is hit or miss depending on the dealership and body shop. JoshieDoom, pm sent for pdf.

Yep, notorious bubble effect due to the adhesive used in the factory. They had a fix for existing owners but, I think that has since been recinded.

Black- 2000 Firehawk.
Just had Mine fixed last Month, I had to have the Pontiac regional Manager look at it and he approved the fix. I now have a Brand New roof Panel for sale since I bought one thinking Pontiac would not replace mine.

Grrr.....the dealer is giving me the 'you repainted it' excuse. I appealed it to the dealers GM and have a meet with him next week.
