    Oil Pressure

When I got in my 2001 Trans Am WS6 yesterday, I cranked it up and rev it up to about 2800 rpms a few times before I took off. But I noticed the oil pressure gauge moving very quickly from about 40 to almost 75 when I was doing so. I have also noticed the gauge move slowly up when I had to radio turned up loud.

Is this something I should worry about, need to get fixed, or is it normal?

    Thanks

Oil pressure should ramp up and down when you rev the motor not sure if it should read 75psi @ 2800 rpm but when the motor is cold it's possible. Sounds like you may have a bad connection for the oil pressure sending unit; the radio thing maybe vibrating the connection causing the gauge to bounce around, I would recomend it be checked out and corrected. You really do want to have the oil pressure gauge read correctly, it's your life-line to your engine heart beat!

thats completely reasonable...the LS has a lot of oil pressure......the pump is too good for the size of the holes in the engine....it boils down to theres too small of a leak for the amount of oil that is being pumped...cause thats what it is...a controled leak
