Oil Change

I'm getting ready to do my first oil change for my car and I'd like to know what everyone runs in their car. Synthetics or conventional? Brand? And also what type of filter to use. Thanks for your help!

I've used it since day 1 in the SS. Never had one single issue. I'd say it's in the top 5 in choices. Mobil 1 is up there also.

Overpriced for sure I think it was 20 bucks for 1 quart of rear end fluid compare to mobil 1 10 to 15 dollar quart.

Penzoil Platinum and have used both Fram Xtended Guard, Wix and Napa Gold filters. The Wix and Napa Gold are one in the same, just painted different colors.

I go to Walmart and get the big 5 quart jug of either Penzoil Platinum, Castrol Edge, or Penzoil Ultra. Whichever's on sale. I also get the Fram Xtended guard filter there too.

Wow thanks for all the input fellas. It looks like synthetic is the way to go which is kinda what I figured. Guess I'll try the Mobil 1 this time and I've always used the fram filters on my truck with no problems so I'll go for one of those extended guard ones.

I buy by the 5 quart jug too. Here lately it seems the Penzoil Platnum is the cheapest at $25, everything else (Valvoline, Mobil, Quaker State, Castrol) has all jumped to $27-$28 a jug. Not sure what is going on there, but it used to be the opposite a few months ago.
I also use the Fram Xtended filters there for the LS engines, for the classic cars I have to go with Wix at a different store because Fram doesn't make that Xtended filter for those applications.

Ive used plenty but Mobile 1 EP and a Mobile 1 filter. After seeing the inside of fram filter i no longer like those. Just my 2c. Use whatever works. Ive used Pen, RP, Mob, and Castrol.

The Fram Xtended Guard is great filter. The orange one is poop.
