O2 sensors
Can anyone tell me the location of the two upstream O2 sensors. Also can i take them out with a regular box end wrench or do I need a special tool?

they are located just behind the manifolds,
you need a special tool you can rent at autozone/oreillys, it is a lenthened socket with a slit in it for the wires to go while you are screwing it in.
USE ANTI SEIZE, especially if you are taking them off with the engine cold, removing them with the engine hot will be easier, but you might burn yourself..

7/8ths open end wrench will do just fine,also if they have been in a long time spray them with some PB blaster before trying to unscrew them from the exhaust pipe.no need to buy some bullcrap "special tool" to replace o2s

umplug the o2 sensor first,then unscrew from exhaust pipe using a 7/8 ths open end wrench,screw in new sensor,tighten with 7/8 ths open end wrench,and plug new sensor in.

if the op already has a 7/8ths open end wrench there is no need to spend the money to rent.

The special socket is the preferred method, but it is not absolutely necessary. As stated, an open end wrench will also do the trick, but if things are rusted up good, you risk rounding out the sensor and/or slipping off and breaking something. If things get ugly, a pipe wrench will also do the trick -- but only if you are removing the sensor to replace it. Most new sensors come with a dab of anti-sieze. If not, you will want to apply some to the threads. Also use anti-sieze if the factory sensor is being re-installed.

the PB Blaster works great for rusted issues.when i did the long tubes/y-pipe i soaked all the bolts and nuts that had to be taked loose the day before and let it sit overnight...did not break any bolts.stuff is the bomb .http://blastercorporation.com/display.cfm?p=50003&pid=4

I ended up buying the O2 socket for 10 dollars, but i was unable to get the driver side O2 sensor. i tried using a 7/8th wrench, but it wouldnt move and i was begining to strip it so i stopped. would that pb blaster work in my case?

the reason i wasnt able to get the driver side O2 sensor was because the o2 socket didnt fit. i also tried running my car for 5 min to take it off easier.

it looked like 7/8th fit well, but im not sure if it was rounded off. i just got back from autozone and i purchased pb blaster.

Also pb is magnetic so the longer it can soak,the deeped it will get.
