    Angry Nonsense I Tell You

So get this... I bought my bird from the dealer a little over a month ago, a beautiful one too. Sometime not too long after that the upper radiator hose blow off but only when the car is parked.
So no big deal maybe the clamp was loose...a week later it happens again...and again, now while i'm driving. NOw i double clamp it right.

STILL blows. I drive to Murrays, Advanced Auto, and Autozone and no one has the damn hose, like it is some kind of hidden secret, some LS1 grail.

Anyways, i drain the radiator cause i had to do an emergency fill with water and put it on again, just make it the three blocks from my friends garage and it blows.

The hose looks stretch on the end, I'm going to the GM dealer to get the damn hose tomorrow. Has this happened to anyone, do you think it could be the original hose? Probably cause i still has the GM part number.

LOL, That hose really hates you man!!! Hope the new one fixes the problem. Are you sure your radiator cap is releasing pressure? Might wanna look into that also.

you know what we thought of that and we did a pressure test too on the sealed system at the cap rated 18lbs. Everything held but we didn't push it passed it to make the cap flow. You think i should replace that too.

I would try just the hose first. If it happens again I would replace the cap too.

man i have cleaned my engine bay so many times i am ready to be a professional detailer. I just went to the dealer and they had to order it cause the next closest is in PA. I'm telling you the holy grail of hoses. It sucks that i have to drive my gf's focus till i get her fixed tomorrow though. I hope this takes care of the problem though thats for sure.

Napa Sells a Flex-lite hose that you basically bend anyway you want it. It has a Wire spring made in it to keep it from Collapsing. Very Very Nice hose IMO. 15$ and Worth every dime. Thats wat you should have bought.

That would be my guess too, thermostat isn't opening and the pressure is blowing the hose. That pressure has to escape somewhere.

If my thermostat wasn't opening then i would not be sitting at 210 right i would overheat. Yeah the price sucks but like i said the dealer was my last choice cause three parts places didn't have it. I've been fucked on other things before so it didn't hurt that bad.

you can tell the hose blows off long before it overheats. I just replaced the cap and got a new hose and it is continuing to happen still this time in my face with the hood open! Needless to say i think its time to replace the thermostat. Once when it blew off i threw it on and continued and then the gauge climbed and i had to shut her down, so i guess you know that's working.

yeah that shit was hot, like throwing frozen fries in a deep fryer with your face over it. This totally sucks, i tried some type of perma seal, even indian head and nothing is holding this thing on. My dad is going to call one of the places he takes the school buses he fixes to. He is going to tell me what that shop says cause they work specifically with cooling systems. I guess my next step is the thermostat. I'm dying here, its beautiful outside and my car can't move and to top it off its covered in antifreeze.

I know when I blew the upper hose on my old TA I looked all over and no one had the hose, however most places had an RV hose that was the same size, I just had to cut it a little to fit. I think it ran about $15-$20 for it.
