NHRA Firebird anyone?
Well i was talking to my dad yesterday about the WS6 he had. He was saying that he wishes he would have bought the NHRA edition Firebird. He said it came with NHRA stitched in the headrests, a plaque and had an all white interior? i thnk. He said it also was set up more for drag racing and had taller gears(4.10s?) I have never seen one to this day and he said he only saw that one but new they came from the factory that way. Anyone here have one or have any pictures? Or have i been overlooking other special editions models that could be this?

SOM- 99 Trans Am
Hm, well i wish i could see the one he was talking about. Me and him both agreed that the NHRA firebirds will def be worth more than a lot of the other firebirds out there. They are pretty rare and there werent many produced. I cant wait to see what some editions of our cars will be worth when im 50. Thanks for the info guys!

the nhra is not going to be worth much more than a normal trans am. they didn't come with anything other than a badge.. big deal.. it won't be worth more than a Firehawk or even a WS6.
there is a guy in a town near me trying to sell one for what you would expect to pay for a WS6 and it has not sold. i told him i'd buy if he brings the price down but he tells me that it is a rare car and he has it in his head that it is going to sell.... he has listed it on ebay 3 times and it keeps getting lower.
and there is no 3.43 gear.. it came with a 3.42 like all the rest.

Ah well your probably right. I was just thinking more along the lines of the production number of them but who knows. I thought there was a lot more to them then what i have found out.

i guess if you are in to the NHRA and racing and all that it could be worth more to you but if you want a trans am and there are 2 for sale, a WS6 and a NHRA t/a for the same price and same miles what do you buy? i don't know about you but i'd rather have the WS6.
if the price for the NHRA was say $2k less like it would be for a non WS6 then i'd buy it. this is just the way i look at it anyway.

black- 2000 nhra edition formula
alot of old muscle cars nowadays are really nothing special outside of low production numbers. look at the money they are fetching.
if there is a collectors markets for ls1 f-bodies 30 years down the line, i can see a nhra car fetching a premium.
i didnt buy my car in hopes it would be rare and worth a mint one day, but i do plan on keeping this car till im a old man.
