Newbie...got my second T/A
Hey....just scored a 99 WS6 convertible last weekend! Love it!
Back in my high school days I drove an 87 T/A with the 305 4 bbl "torque monster". Owned an 89 L98 IROC with nice torque but forget about life after 4000 RPM. Had an 89 Vette Vert for a while, again L98. Even a couple of 5 liter Stangs. But none were like this WS6!
Always like the F-body but the 4th Gen T/A has been a personal favorite. Then with the introduction of the LS1 in 98 I was in lust.
So I traded out of an 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder and haven't looked back. Nice car, handled well but was a little underpowered. And my suitcase has more cargo room! My buddies on the Spyder board are already giving me crap about only driving in a straight line and growing out a mullet.
Drove 425 miles to get it. On the way home I averaged 24.6 MPG at 80 MPH. Amazing for a car with this kind of power.
Tried to post a pic link but I need 10 posts. That will give me time to slap a few coats of Maguire's NXT and get some beauty shots.
Talk at'cha!1999 T/A WS6 Convertible, triple black, A4, K&N, unknown catback from former owner.
1 of 122 Black A4 WS6 convertibles in 1999.
1995 Camry LE coupe sittin on 18s. Gotta have the Bling!!

Yeah, they're pathetic when compared to a 325 rwhp LS1 car. But to the Spyder's credit it weighs only 2200 pounds. So the 125 rwhp does move it along "ok"...15.3 1/4 mile. OTOH, I was always getting roasted by SUVs and minivans.
You can get a Spyder into the high 13s with 2zz motor/tranny swaps and/or turbos but only after 1000's of dollars and a few broken parts. There's a couple with 275+ rwhp and get 12s but it's very hard to do and you need a 2nd mortgage to afford it.
My take on Spyder is that it's more an autocross car where the LS1 cars are total muscle cars that handle really well.
But I wanted a car that already did 13s out of the box and looked like it was pissed off! Enter WS6!
