Pewter- 1999 Formula Firebird
New to LS1
hello, im new to the LS1 world and this fourm.
I just bought a 1999 formula firebird (SLP airbox, Custom tune) kinda new to the LS1 use to have a Volkswagen. Im just wondering what are some cheap easy to do mods. that are the best bang for the buck pretty much. Currently it runs a 13.5 1/4 mile @ 105mph (track slip from previous owner). I want to keep it N/A tho.

Well i also have the macthing rims but they have just the street tires on em i switch them out when i need too, i dont know how well the M/T's will hold up driving eveyday. but i might switch them over onto the chrome ones and just keep it that way

welcome to the site bro, clean car, i would just run round on street tires and when you go to the track slap on the m/t's. first few things id get if i was in your situation is full exhust and a stall.

Empire, good thing about this site, you will get support from many different angles. There are even Master ASE certified mechanics online to direct you should you come across mechanical issues. Links to aftermarket companies, and good thing is you can see pics of the aftermarket items installed on the cars. I have used this site to change my front headlight actuators, rearend problems, starting problems and usually when people read the threads, they have been through what you are going thru, and will extend compassion, cuz they know what it's like to be right where you are....

Stall isnt too difficult, cam you might want a shop. But you always have time to learn, i didn't ever think i would be able to swap a auto tranny out of my 240sx and put a manual in its place. But with some reasearch and some help from a friend who also never did any work on a car that major we got it done.
