Yeah, you could get one built for way cheaper. I'd like to have that or the LS9 motor though.

The LS9 is the anti christ with 648RWHP. Check out Jay Leno's 2009 ZR1 corvette with the LS9

that's what i'm sayin! It's all good on paper, really, but you can make big numbers like that out of an iron block.

+1 on the custom build unless you just have too much money and not enough patience and time.

    96 TA WS6 with LS1/Trans

    Hey Pete:

Just spend a little and invest the rest. You will be glad you did when you retire from the military, if that is what you plan on doing. Investing a little in your ride is cool, but keep in mind you could invest 5 grand or so in your TA and then have some idiot crash right into it. You won't get that money you just invested into it back. I had some chick rear end my TA after I spent months fixing it up. I used the money the insurance company gave me to fix the car myself and I had the dealership redo all the seals in the entire engine and even in the trans. I put a new water pump, distributer, roller rockers and used up the whole 2400 on the car only to have a wrist pin go out in it not even 3 months later. Spent the entire settlement I got on the LS1/Trans and other items I needed to complete the swap on my 96 TA WS6 and Im still working on the damn thing! Love it though! My point is, that we all love our TA's and I feel some mods are cool, but you can't race your car on the street or show off without eventually getting caught by the 5.0 or wrecking your car or even having some idiot wreck it for you!

Spend some on the car and invest the rest! You'll thank me later.

The great place. I was there for 4 years in the 89th MP BDE. How many years did they get you for for 24k? I just re-upped for 6 in the reserves and got 20K

It all depends on what you want, you can do some basic mods and keep it somewhat stock, or you could go all out with that much cash. I say 408 stroker with built tranny and rear end...

And like some of the other guys said on here, save some of it. Invest at least half. I wish I had done that instead of blowing my bonus money on cars and beer. On the other hand, I do have a GTO and a T/A(and I drank a LOT of beer)
