How much for the 98? Or are you trading your Volvo for it?
-

3000, but im trading.

Is your Volvo in bad condition or what? Sounds to me like the other guy is getting a better deal if your Volvo is mint. $3000 is a good price for that 98 though, you could get some nice summit seats or something and cars are being parted out all the time for interior pieces so it wouldn't be so bad.

kbb.com value is 5300 on my volvo. its in excellent condition. any car I drive is or will be because I refuse to have something that looks like crap. which is why I was trying to find all the seats, headliner, dash pad and might as well go ahead and do carpet. interior looks good on the ws6, but no telling how much repair and paint would cost. I mainly like the ws6 for the 6spd, but im sure I could put one in the 98.

Navy Blue Metallic- 98 T/A Not Stock Anymore!
I'm going with the 98' because interior is much less work to do then body & paint.
EGR/Air pump are items you'll delete anyways when you get headers if he hasn't already done so.
High mileage LS1's don't worry me as much as SBC's of the past. I got 160k on mine and still runs like a SOB. Yes we have our quirks when compared to the later yrs but we also have bonuses that the later yrs don't. No chicken pox on the sail panel and our doors panels don't crack either. Like Jeff said our gauges work and are accurate and we are the only yr of the late f-bodies that doesn't have the "black box" for "accident investigation" (meaning they can't plug in and see just how fast you were going when you get into an accident)
Look the car over very well.
Also it would make me wonder why the guy all of a sudden changed his mind. Maybe he found something else wrong and is not telling.

lol, its pretty bad, ive GOT to find some seats, to get them redone is way too much. Hawksthirdgenparts.com want 600 for the front and rear set. I found today paint alone will cost over 3k if done right and thats way out of my budget and im not taking it to maaco for the 500 paint job crap. So yeah, im going with the 98. Supposed to meet around lunch tomorrow. Anything I should look for? he said theres a little oil leak around the oil filter. He doesnt know much about cars, hes been riding around without a/c with a bad serpentine belt and had to get his neighbors help to replace it. They replaced it and he said the air works fine now.

So if he doesn't know much about cars that means he probably has never serviced the rear, tranny and god knows about frequent oil changes... sounds like he pretty much just drove the car from point A to B without caring about it. I wouldn't do it man, take your time and probably better off selling your car for a good amount and finding one that is better, I'm sure you could find a high mileage 6 speed WS.6 for $5500ish that has been cared for.
I had a very similar 98 about a year ago that I ended up selling because I just lost interest in fixing cosmetic things on her, she had 198k miles when I sold her for $3k also but the interior was in significant better shape than that.

Somebody with tuning software can do it or you can send your pcm to Frost
